Xavier Louis-Jacques, a 19 year old man of Cambridge, MA was killed by gun violence on March 27, 2021.

A talented and positive person that connected with everyone he met, Xavier was an exceptional young man who was recently accepted into Xavier University of Louisiana, a private, historically Black, Roman Catholic University in New Orleans. Xavier had been saving his money to take this opportunity to become an engineer and pursue his interest in computers, a passion he had since he started building his own at age 11.

Xavier wasn't just academically driven, he loved people and enjoyed many recreational activities too. He was also an athlete and played for the CRLS Falcons. He was an artist as well, learning how to manage music production and how to work with ceramics (The Boston Museum of Fine Arts displayed one of his pieces). A multifaceted and kind individual, Xavier was a gifted young man who had many goals, and always looked to improve himself and help others, subsequently touching the lives of many in a deeply personal way.

We thank you for joining Xavier's family and friends, in mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of Xavier Louis-Jacques with a gift to this Scholarship Fund which will honor Xavier's memory by providing a scholarship to a CRLS graduate that embodies Xavier's values. Preference will be given to a student aspiring to study at an HBCU, and with similar interests and attributes to Xavier including an interest in athletics, and arts.
