We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
We are Sisters on the Runway, a student-run organization out of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. In Sisters we strive to raise awareness and funds by fighting for justice for survivors of domestic violence. This club has served as a communal experience and safe space for young women to share their experiences and stories while feeling truly heard. We engage in meaningful conversations and responsive actions connected to the essential issues of healthy relationships, misogyny and domestic violence. Our goal is to advocate for survivors of domestic violence and provide support through collaborating with domestic-violence centered operations.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 in community contributions. Every dollar up to the $2,500 mark will be matched by the Cambridge Community Foundation, Cambridge's local giving platform. Our fundraiser will lead up to our annual spring fashion show, which will take place on May 15th at the MIT Student Center.
Funds collected will be equally distributed among the following organizations:
- Transition House: Located in Harvard Square, the Transition House is a leader in the field in addressing domestic violence through intervention and prevention. “We serve people of all ages and backgrounds. We work toward social equity and system change to end the perpetuation of harm and violence. With deep roots in Cambridge, Massachusetts for over 45 years, our model is embraced as a shared responsibility and an ongoing priority to end domestic violence in our community.”
- Cambridge Women's Center: The Cambridge Women's Center is a physical and digital community space open to anyone for whom woman is a meaningful identifier or lived experience. We offer a safe space for learning, emotional support, empathy, and empowerment through self-determination.
The Cambridge Community Foundation is honored to play a role in supporting these young leaders in our community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Michal Rubin, VP of Development at: mrubin@Cambridgecf.org.
